RF LABORATORY

The RF laboratory collects the instrumentation acquired for prototyping and testing the ALPI superconducting QWRs and their related equipment (coupler, tuner, movement line...). The RF instruments of the PIAVE and IPR projects and of MAIAS experiment were added to the pool. The devices, most of which operate at frequency in between 50 and 200 MHz, are used for characterization and conditioning of PIAVE RFQs and ALPI QWRs.

In the laboratory an apparatus to characterize the RF resonators by bead pulling measurement is set up. It includes a thermostatic chamber to reduce the changes in resonant frequency due to thermal drifts.

In this period the laboratory guests the aluminum RFQ prototype of TRASCO for its electromagnetic characterization.

A list of instrumentation is available.
